It’s time to face the facts. Max is looking a little shaggy and although he’s not telling you, he’s embarrassed to walk through the neighborhood. Here at Candlewick, we have a full service grooming salon. So go ahead, give Max a day full of pampering and relaxation! Let him walk the neighborhood with pride and strut his stuff at the dog park!
Spa Treatments
Full Groom
A full groom means your pet receives the works. Full grooms include the following; a shampoo, condition, crème rinse, nail trimming, ear cleaning, a brush out, scissoring and style.
Bath, Brush & Tidy
Too soon for a full hair cut? Just need to tame those fuzzies or fly aways? We suggest scheduling a bath, brush and tidy. This service includes a shampoo, conditioning, nail clipping, ear cleaning, brush out and some light trim work.
Bath & Brush
Bath and brush appointments are perfect to keep your pets coat matt free and fresh smelling when they are in between full grooming appointments. We also recommend these for short hair breeds that don’t require a hair cut. Our special combs and brushes will help to release shedding hair. Along with a shampoo and brush work, these include nail clipping and ear cleaning.
Basic Bath
Bathing includes a shampoo, conditioning, nail clipping and ear cleaning.
Note - Prices vary by breed, coat condition and style of hair cut. Please contact our office for price estimations.

“A Day at the Spa”
Scheduling an appointment
Grooming appointments are available Monday through Saturday. It is best to reserve an appointment at least a week prior, as spots tend to fill up quickly. On the day of your scheduled appointment you may drop off between the hours of 8:30 and 10 AM. A pick up time will be scheduled with our receptionist upon your arrival, allowing for appropriate time for your pet to be bathed, brushed, scissored and properly dried. Typically pick up times begin at 2 PM and vary depending upon your time of arrival. You may pick up your pet between your scheduled pick up time and our closing time of 6 PM. All pets, whether they spend a few hours in our grooming salon, or an afternoon, will be provided with fresh water and time to stretch or relieve themselves in our courtyard.
Coat and Skin Treatments
The maintenance needed for our own human hair is very similar to what is required in keeping our dogs coat healthy and attractive. As we use special hair treatments, shampoos and deep conditioners, there are similar products for dogs. Our top of the line products to choose from are as follows:
Oatmeal Bath
An all natural anti-itch shampoo to sooth those who suffer from seasonal dry skin or mild allergies.
Medicated Bath (Regular or Tar Shampoo)
A gentle formula shampoo that aids in healing skin aliments and disorders. More specifically, medicated baths provide temporary relief of itching and flaking of seborrheic dermatitis.
Hypoallergenic
This hypoallergenic, non-irritating formula is best for those with allergies or those that are sensitive to grooming products. Hypo baths leave the coat lustrous, soft and tangle free.
Flea and Tick
This treatment will rid your dog of any nuisance fleas, lice or ticks. In addition, this shampoo conditions, deodorizes and leaves the coat with a radiant sheen.
Skunk
The fuzzy creature waddling through your backyard with the unmistakable white stripe serves as a giant warning sign for any pet owner. Max however, feels unbelievably fortunate to have found a new playmate (at least at first...). Our skunk bath treatment is the best way to remove the overwhelming odor from this unpleasant encounter.
Dark Coat Enhancing
This dark coat enhancing shampoo adds brilliance and sparkling accents to black, charcoal, blue and other dark colored coats.
Additional Services
Nail Grinding
Nail grinding is a procedure that polishes off nail clipping leaving nails as short as possible, smooth, and rounded.
Anal Gland Expression
Typically during defecation, anal glands are naturally emptied. However this is not always the case. Clogged or enlarged anal glands can be uncomfortable and need to be professionally expressed. Excessive biting, licking or scooting along the carpet are all signs your pet requires this service. If your dog is in constant need of anal gland expression, or has a bad odor, a visit to your veterinarian is recommended.
Tooth Brushing
This service is a tooth brushing, not to be confused with a tooth cleaning preformed by a veterinarian. For tooth brushing, our groomers use a tooth brush specifically designed for dogs and a dental gel that safely and effectively prevents plaque build-up, helps fight gum disease and controls bad breath.
Walk-in nail trimming
This service is offered Monday through Saturday from 8:30AM to 12:00PM. Walk-in nail trims do not require a scheduled appointment.
Vaccination Requirements
It is required that all dogs and cats be current with their inoculations prior to grooming appointments. Vaccination
requirements are as follows:
Dogs
- Distemper (DHLPP)
- Rabies
- Bordetella
Cats
- Distemper (FVRC-P)
- Rabies
